C. Joseph Greene was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1947.
He attended high school at Divine Word Seminary in Perrysburg,
Ohio and graduated from The University of Louisville with a B.A.
cum laude in 1970 from which institution he also received a Master
of Arts degree in 1973. In December of 1978, The University of
Kentucky College of Law awarded him a law degree.
Mr. Greene was admitted to The Kentucky and Indiana Bars in 1979
and practices in both jurisdictions. He is also admitted in the
United States District Courts for Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky,
and the Southern District of Indiana and the United States Court
of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. From 1979 to late 1989, Mr.
Greene practiced with the firm of Mapother & Mapother where he
became that firm's first Vice President. In late 1989 he joined
forces with Kyle A. Cooper to found the firm of Greene & Cooper,
where he has practiced ever since.
Creditor's Rights has been the exclusive specialty of Mr. Greene's
practice from his first day as a practicing lawyer. He has acquired
expertise over the years in representing all kinds of creditors,
and his experience extends to Secured Transactions, Commercial
Leases including Equipment Leasing, Real Estate Foreclosure, Replevin,
Workouts, Collections, and the representation of creditors in
both commercial and consumer bankruptcy.
Topics on which Mr. Greene has presented lectures to various
lawyer and creditor forums include the following: "The True Lessor's
Remedies and the Lessee's Defenses", "Chapter 11: Confirmation
and Post-Confirmation Concerns", "Secured Transactions and Debtor/Creditor
Relations", "The Post Judgment Discovery Process and Miscellaneous
Collection Approaches", and "The Appointment of Trustees and Examiners
in Chapter 11 Cases".
Mr. Greene is a member of the Kentucky and Indiana Bar Associations
as well as the local Louisville Bar Association and the American
Bankruptcy Institute.
